Stanley L. Stiver was born on June 29, 1921, in Youngstown, Ohio. His father had moved there to work in a steel mill as a crane operator. more

Higher Education

After graduating from high school, Stanley Stiver worked for a year and attended night school before going to Capital University, a Lutheran school in Columbus, Ohio. Upon graduation, he attended Evangelical Lutheran Theological Seminary across the street. more

First Call

Stanley L. Stiver's first call came in 1947 from St. Luke's in New Orleans. There he met Mary Jane Anderson, a public health nurse. more
